Also known as: Laurent Koudou Gbagbo

Former Ivorian president (born 1945), in office from 2000 to 2011.

Laurent Gbagbo was Ivory Coast’s president from 2000 to 2011, a period marked by civil conflict and a serious post-election crisis. The International Criminal Court definitively acquitted him in 2021. Separately, an Ivorian conviction in the BCEAO case remained relevant despite a presidential pardon in 2022, and he challenged decisions affecting his electoral eligibility.
