Acquitted / conviction overturned

Tukhachevsky was arrested, accused of a military conspiracy with Germany, tried in secret on 11 June 1937 alongside other commanders and executed almost immediately. The case initiated a massive purge of the Red Army leadership; the charges are now regarded as fabricated as part of the Great Terror.
