2008 members' assembly: non-members present, governance crisis and resignation

Investigation

The revelation that unauthorised individuals had participated in voting at a Real Madrid assembly in December 2008 triggered a crisis that forced Calderón to resign in January 2009. Broader investigations also examined matters concerning accounts, travel, tickets and organisation of the assembly.

2006-2012

2006 Real Madrid election, suspension of postal voting and subsequent criminal investigation dismissed

Investigation

The 2006 presidential election was paralysed by a dispute over postal votes; at Calderón's request, a judge provisionally suspended those ballots, and he was declared elected on the basis of votes cast in person. A subsequent criminal investigation examined suspicions of vote manipulation linked to his candidacy, but the proceedings were definitively closed in 2012, particularly after evidence obtained using a hidden camera was invalidated.

Allegations of personal expenses charged to club card, followed by journalists' conviction for calumny

Conviction — against a third party

Protagonist is the victim — these proceedings are not counted in their formal charges or convictions.

Articles accused Calderón of using club resources for personal expenditure. He sued the authors and, in 2011, two journalists were convicted of calumny over these allegations, although other charges and claims for damages were not entirely successful.

II. Constellation of documented links

No documented link with another published profile for now.

Two profiles are linked when a documented controversy of one names the other. The link points to that controversy and its sources; it does not indicate a personal relationship.
