April 1991: Mirror Group flotation prospectus later found "materially inaccurate and misleading"

Mirror Group's flotation raised approximately £500 million. The official DTI report published in 2001 concluded that the prospectus was materially inaccurate and misleading, notably because it failed to disclose the true financial fragility of Maxwell's private group and the rescue function that the flotation was intended to perform.
