2013 gang rape: Final Italian conviction and enforcement of nine-year prison sentence in Brazil

Conviction

An Italian court sentenced Robinho to nine years' imprisonment for participating in the gang rape of a young woman in Milan in 2013. The conviction was upheld on appeal and became final in Italy. After extradition was refused because of his Brazilian nationality, Brazil's STJ recognised the sentence in 2024 and ordered its immediate enforcement in Brazil. His subsequent appeals were rejected or blocked through July 2026.
