2024: UEFA one-match suspension over Gibraltar chant

Civil / administrative proceedings

During Euro celebrations, Morata and Rodri joined a chant asserting Spanish sovereignty over Gibraltar. Gibraltar’s football association complained; UEFA opened disciplinary proceedings and suspended them for one international match each. This was a sporting sanction, not a criminal judgment.
