Public dispute with Nikola Gruevski over name issue and strategy towards Greece

No legal proceedings

Towards the end of his presidential term, Crvenkovski publicly opposed several of Gruevski's choices in the dispute with Greece, arguing that the prime minister was freezing negotiations and that symbolic decisions, notably renaming the airport, unnecessarily complicated prospects for Euro-Atlantic integration.

Presidential pardon of Zoran Zaev in 'Global' case

Case dismissed / dropped

In August 2008, President Crvenkovski pardoned Zoran Zaev and five others suspected of abuse of power in the 'Global' case.
