Case dismissed / dropped — against Aurélien Rousseau

Protagonist not prosecuted — these proceedings are not counted in their formal charges or convictions.

2020–2022: RMC remarks denying renewed epidemic — broadcaster warning upheld by Conseil d'État

Civil / administrative proceedings

Appearing on RMC in August 2020, Perronne claimed that Covid 'no longer kills', that the epidemic was declining again and that it was a 'great delusion' being exploited. The CSA formally warned RMC and RMC Story for failing to meet requirements of honesty and rigour, finding that the remarks clearly did not reflect the epidemiological situation. The Conseil d'État upheld this aspect in 2022.

2022: CNOM disciplinary complaint dismissed at first instance; Medical Council announces appeal

Allegations

The Île-de-France first-instance disciplinary chamber dismissed all allegations made against Perronne by the National Medical Council. It found, among other things, that he had not engaged in the alleged anti-vaccination discourse, that he had the standing of an expert to speak publicly and that he had not promoted an illusory remedy within the relevant disciplinary meaning.

Allegations

The AP-HP director-general removed Perronne as head of the infectious and tropical diseases department at Raymond-Poincaré Hospital.
