Media investigations documented Henri de Castries's role in establishing the relationship and determining remuneration, as well as legal assistance provided by AXA in setting up the company. Supplementary pension and retained financial entitlements on departure from AXA

No legal proceedings

PanEuroLife case: Formally placed under investigation, then all charges dismissed (non-lieu)

Case dismissed / dropped

Henri de Castries was formally placed under investigation (mise en examen) in an inquiry into AXA's Luxembourg subsidiary PanEuroLife over suspicions of money laundering connected with life insurance contracts. After several years, prosecutors requested dismissal in 2009, and the entire case was dismissed (non-lieu) in 2010 because the offences had not been sufficiently established.
